What is your full name, and what name do you prefer to go by? How do pronounce it phonetically?

Aidan Tracy Shine, and I go by Aidan. Pronounced "ay din"

I prefer she/her/hers pronouns.

What is your birthday? Are you OK with having your birthday publicly acknowledged/celebrated?

My birthday is April 18th, and I love attention so feel free to celebrate me.

Where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas.

Did you have any fun nicknames while growing up? Do you have any now? What is the origin (if you feel comfortable sharing)?

My parents used to call me "tootsie" when I was little, but they had to stop because I thought it was my real name.

What holidays do you celebrate (if any)?

My favorite holiday is Halloween, but I also celebrate Christmas, Easter, all the party holidays, etc.

Academics

What is your academic life like?

What year in school are you?

This is my freshman year at UW Madison.

When do you expect to graduate?

I will be graduating Winter of 2022, but possibly earlier.

What is your major? How did you choose that?

I am a Computer Science major because I get a very nice adrenaline rush from problem solving. I am also getting a certificate in Graphic Design.

Do you know what you'd like to do after you graduate?

I tell people I'd like to go into web design, but really I have no clue. Something that combines programming and graphic design would be nice.

Interests

What do you like to do when you're not in class/working for STS?

What do you like to do for fun?

I like to make collages and bake/cook.

Do you have any hobbies or groups that you participate in?

I am a member of the WUD Film Comittee and a cast member of Velvet Darkness, the Rocky Horror Picture Show group in Madison.

Do you have any other jobs or internships?

Any exciting plans for summer/winter break?

This summer I will be working as a counselor at my summer camp in Kerrville, Texas. If I reccommend people for the job and they get hired I get a $100 bonus and I will split it with you :^)

What are some interesting, unexpected, or surprising facts about yourself?

What is something that might surprise someone who just met you?

I can drink water through my nose. Yes, I know it's gross. I don't do it regularly.

Where is somewhere you have always wanted to travel?

I would really like to go to Japan to see my friend compete in the Summer Olympics(she's a pro fencer).

Have you ever met anyone famous?

TJ Miller(the bartender from Deadpool) ate at the restaurant I used to work at last year.

Life at STS

Talk a little bit about your time with STS

What is your favorite topic to teach? If you are a new trainer, what are you excited to teach?

I'm excited to teach Illustrator because I've already had a lot of fun helping my classmates in my 2D Design class.

What is something you are interested in learning?

I would like to learn more about front end web design.

What has been the most challenging part of working at STS? For new trainers, what parts of the job are you most curious about?

I am curious to see the teaching styles of the other trainers.
