My name is Caitlyn Se, and I go by Caitlyn. It's pronounced kayt-lin.

My birthday is on October 31st, and I'm happy to celebrate it publicly since it makes Halloween extra festive.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up here in Madison, WI.
Did you have any fun nicknames while growing up? Do you have any now? What is the origin (if you feel comfortable sharing)?
Sadly, I don't have any nicknames now, but I had a few growing up. One of them was Caitface. I'm actually not sure how my friend came up with it, but it was one that stuck with me in middle school.
What holidays do you celebrate (if any)?
I celebrate Christmas, Lunar New Year, and Halloween!

What is your academic life like?
What year in school are you?
I'm currently a junior.
When do you expect to graduate?
I'm planning to graduate in Spring of 2023.
What is your major? How did you choose that?
I'm majoring in Biology. Growing up, I always enjoyed my science classes and participating in Science Olympiad. I especially loved my biology class in high school, and once I got to take more classes at UW-Madison, I knew biology was the right path for me.
Do you know what you'd like to do after you graduate?
I would like to be a PA in the future.

What do you like to do when you're not in class/working for STS?
What do you like to do for fun?
I love to draw, paint, and try new crafts in my free time. I also enjoy reading and doing yoga.
Do you have any hobbies or groups that you participate in?
I am a part of Project Sunshine, where we play with kids at the hospital. I am also a member of Aspiring Physician Assistant Association.
Do you have any other jobs or internships?
I don't at the moment.
Any exciting plans for summer/winter break?
Like many others during COVID, I'm looking forward to hanging out with friends. :)

What are some interesting, unexpected, or surprising facts about yourself?
What is something that might surprise someone who just met you?
I was told by other people that they were surprised that I love doing art.
Where is somewhere you have always wanted to travel?
I have always wanted to travel to South Korea because the street food videos on Youtube make me want to try their mouth-watering food!
Have you ever met anyone famous?
I met Lang Lang once, and I was absolutely starstruck because he is my favorite pianist.
Life at STS
Talk a little bit about your time with STS
What is your favorite topic to teach?
I love teaching Illustrator because I enjoy creating vector art.
What is something you are interested in learning?
I'm interested in learning more about HTML and other languages.
What has been the most challenging part of working at STS?
It took me a while to adapt to the online format of the workshops, but I eventually got better at gauging people's reactions to the content and pacing.
