What is your major? How did you choose that?
I'm a Theatre and Drama and English-Language and Linguistics double major. Shakespeare was a big part of my life growing up. I love both the drama and the language, so I wanted to study both!
Do you know what you'd like to do after you graduate?
I'd like to work in theatre, particularly as a director.
What do you like to do for fun?
I play video games, watch movies, and read books and plays. I also enjoy baking and knitting.
Do you have any hobbies or groups that you participate in?
I'm always involved with a theatre production of some kind. This semester I will help build props for Into the Woods, and will be the dramaturg (production researcher) for Twilight Bowl.
Do you have any other jobs or internships?
I've had internships with American Players Theatre, Forward Theatre Company, the Young Shakespeare Players, but nothing for my final semester.
Any exciting plans for summer/winter break?
I hope to have an internship with a summer theatere company, and I'll move away from Madison for the first time.
What is something that might surprise someone who just met you?
I can be obsessive with games. When Candy Crush was big I completed over 2000 levels.
Where is somewhere you have always wanted to travel?
I've never been out of the country. I plan to go to Canada this summer, and I'd like to go across the ocean as well.
What is your favorite topic to teach?
I love teaching Adobe Illustrator. Showing people how to use a new software to realize their creative vision is incredibly rewarding.
What is something you are interested in learning?
I am always trying to learn more about coding languages.
What has been the most challenging part of working at STS?
I only knew a couple of programs when I started at STS. I had to beef up my software and coding knowledge substantially, but it has been worth it. Now I can pass on what I've learned and use the skills I have gained, both as a teacher and a techie, after I graduate.
