My Birthday is the 5th of September, and I'm all for celebrating.
Where did you grow up?
I was born and grew up in San Diego CA. It's my favorite place in the world.
Did you have any fun nicknames while growing up? Do you have any now? What is the origin (if you feel comfortable sharing)?
In middle school my friends called me T-frog, but I can't remember why.
What holidays do you celebrate (if any)?
I've always just kind of celebrated the commercial aspects of the big holidays, like Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, etc.
Academics
What is your academic life like?
I'm constantly learning about myself and how I learn, so I'd say consistently changing. I'm currently making my redemption from academic probation! I feel like it's ok to fail as long as you're doing what you need to get back on track!
What year in school are you?
I'm currently a sophomore.
When do you expect to graduate?
I expect to graduate May 2021.
What is your major? How did you choose that?
My major is statistics, because I really enjoy its flexibility. I feel that many disciplines and fields need people who can analyze data, and I'm the type of person who likes to work in many different fields, rather than stick to one speciality.
Do you know what you'd like to do after you graduate?
It changes with the day, so for now I'll just say no.
Interests
What do you like to do when you're not in class/working for STS?
What do you like to do for fun?
In my freetime I mostly listen to music, skateboard, play video games, and hang out with friends.
Do you have any hobbies or groups that you participate in?
I've been getting really into art and sculpting lately, and I'm in the planning phase of a club for people who don't usually do art. A sort of judgement free therapy time for students to just work artistically.
Do you have any other jobs or internships?
I do not as of right now
Any exciting plans for summer/winter break?
Yes! Over the summer a bunch of my friends and I are thinking about buying a used bus in New York and driving it back to San Diego, full road trip style. We're counting on it breaking down so we get more of an adventure aspect!

What are some interesting, unexpected, or surprising facts about yourself?
What is something that might surprise someone who just met you?
Something that might surprise someone I just met is how much music I listen to. I've been listening to at least 1 new album a day, but up to around 5 or 6 semi consistently for almost a year now. I live for finding all the music!
Where is somewhere you have always wanted to travel?
The top places I want to travel to are Ireland, Vietnam, and South Korea. I've rarely travelled so I haven't seen many different places, much less different countries, and these place's cultures and landscapes seem amazing.
Have you ever met anyone famous?
Yeah, I go to a lot of concerts and a lot of the times I get to say hi to the artist after the show.

Talk a little bit about your time with STS
What is your favorite topic to teach? If you are a new trainer, what are you excited to teach?
I'm a new trainer but I'd say I'm excited to teach R. It seems like it will be a challenge, and it's kind of exciting not knowing all the weird questions I'm going to recieve and what kinds of things I will need to learn/figure out.
What is something you are interested in learning?
I'm really interested in learning Illustrator. I've heard a lot about the software and it seems super interesting and useful.
What has been the most challenging part of working at STS? For new trainers, what parts of the job are you most curious about?
I'm definitely most curious about what kind of people and questions come in for ask a trainer appointments, as well as how it feels to actually teach a workshop.
